Resourcery Group are working with a Not for Profit organisation on an interim basis for a Head of Finance. As the number one person in finance, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the finance function and production of financial reports for the Senior Leadership Team. This role needs someone for 3-5 days per week (part time considered). You will be required to be on site 2 days per week in the Greater Manchester area. The assignment is for a period of 3-4 months.
The Head of Finance role:
- Provide leadership, direction and management of the Finance Team including regular meetings with all team members to set their work plans, monitor progress and provide support
- Monitor the financial performance through the provision of management information, identifying risks and recommending corrective actions
- Maintain internal financial controls, all associated financial policies, and the delegation framework, ensuring a culture of financial compliance and understanding within the organisation
- Ensure the delivery of consistent, high-quality financial processes; the production of monthly management accounts, payroll procedures, etc.
- Maintain appropriate financial records and prepare financial statements in accordance with UK accounting standards, Charity Commission guidelines and company law requirements; ensuring that the organisation fully discharges its legal responsibilities as a charity and company limited by guarantee
- Establish the financial infrastructure for new projects (which are separate charities/companies) including bank accounts, systems and processes, and approval frameworks; identify and implement opportunities to optimise and digitise processes drawing on technology advancements
The preferred candidate's background:
- A fully qualified accountant - ACA/ACCA/CIMA
- Have prior experience in the Charity sector and be familiar with charity SORP
- Be available to work a minimum of 3 days per week
